Ebony blinked. Her eyes opened to her reflection in the mirror. Her raven hair was pinned up in a black ribbon, her grey eyes looked tired but alert. One of her pale hands reached to take the ribbon out of her hair, whilst the other took her brush from the table and began brushing through her dark tresses.
After her long hair had been brushed straight and silky, she stood up and appraised her grey nightgown. She opened her dresser and took out a black dress. It was form-fitting and the neckline made a somewhat deep half circle down. The skirt of the dress poofed out and had a white underskirt. The upper half of the dress was see-through and had light rose designs. A built in white undershirt sat as a second layer.
Morning sunlight has bursted through the kitchen windows, blinding Ebony's ajusting eyes as she walked through the house and toward the front door. Her parents, undoubtedly, were already awake and about. She didn't bother looking for them. She was independent enough to go about her day alone.
